Social Isolation to Social Connection

The fall season is a known time to rest and reset. Rest does not always need to be in  a solitary state. This was something to acknowledge and learn especially for avoidant attachment styles. Knowing that rest and reset can also be done with social connections. By reaching out for calming collectives with coworkers or friends or family or community members. Whatever it looks like to lean on one’s support system is very important for one’s wellbeing, especially during this season.

As social beings, the felt sense of neuroception of safety in community is a quintessential concept to sit with. The rest and reset does not need to mean social isolation. It can empower one to find hope and rest to lean on their support system to make meaningful social connections. It might be worthwhile to focus on the ability to share the life experience of rest and reset during this fall season , given the COVID pandemic social isolation in context. Getting back to healthy ways to reconnect. Even if that means virtual meetups, if that’s all that seems doable and healthy for one. It is worth that shared experience during this season of care and downtime.

Here’s to wishing for a healing and restful reconnection with your loved ones.

Best,

Srivi
